At Shelton
Farm we specialize in introducing riders and non-riders, adults
and children to the pleasures of carriage driving.
Learning at first on ponies, as skills develop pupils advance to
the driving of the impressive Friesian horses.
For those pupils wishing to progress from gentle drives along
country lanes, the precision of driven dressage and the challenge
of driving through and around obstacles is introduced. For the
adventurous the rigours of the cross-country course will appeal.
A trial lesson of 2 hours may be taken or the "Introduction
to Carriage Driving" Course of six lessons covers all the
fundamentals of driving a single horse safely in the traditional
style and also includes an introduction to driving in the Show
Ring and to Driving Trials.
Shelton Farm is an examination centre for the British Driving
Society and has a proven training programme for coaching pupils
through the various stages of the assessments.
Lessons can also be tailored to meet individual requirements.
All lessons are given individually, on experienced driving horses
and ponies and by qualified drivers or Instructors.
